What Brings You to the Omnia Community?
Joining Omnia Community presented an incredible opportunity for me to re-engage in meaningful work by supporting young people and adults in developing their interests in physical activity and specific sports. It is also a chance to make a tangible difference in individuals’ lives, whether by guiding career choices, sparking interest in various sports or providing essential family support. Initiatives such as addressing holiday hunger and offering enriching activities during school breaks help empower families and foster a love for sports, creating a positive and lasting impact.
What Does Coaching Mean to You?
Coaching, to me, is about inspiring and empowering children in both community and school environments to develop a genuine passion for the sport they choose. As a coach, I strive to provide the tools, experiences and knowledge they need in a positive and safe environment. My philosophy emphasizes holistic development, addressing the technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of sports.
Each session I deliver is carefully planned to be fun, enjoyable, and impactful, with the long-term goal of nurturing well-rounded, capable players. I am committed to helping every individual reach their potential, regardless of age or ability level. My approach centres on fostering a supportive atmosphere that promotes self-worth and encourages a lifelong love for sports.
I prioritise building strong relationships with players and parents, treating them with respect and remaining open to constructive feedback. Beyond skill development, I view character building as equally vital. Through my actions and guidance, I aim to instil values such as respect, resilience, empathy, teamwork and sportsmanship, which will benefit participants both on and off the field.
What Does Community Mean to You?
To me, community means understanding the unique needs of the area you serve and actively working to address them. It’s about identifying challenges and creating solutions that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. This includes providing support to families and children, addressing issues like affordability, food security and overall wellbeing for those facing difficulties.
Community is also about fostering inclusivity—bringing together individuals from all backgrounds, genders, abilities, and experiences. It’s about creating a shared sense of belonging, where everyone feels supported and valued and working collaboratively to improve the quality of life for all members of the community.
